About Laura

I am an experienced registered psychologist in private practice, who works with children (5+), adolescents and adults. I work with with a variety of clients, including children/adolescents coping with anxiety, low mood or post-separation dynamics in the family, adults/adolescents seeking treatment for general mental health presentations, navigating difficult life circumstances or transition points or seeking more direction/joy in life or help navigating relationship dynamics, clients seeking help to address eating disorders, substance abuse (or other compulsive behaviours), and clients seeking therapeutic work to address the impact of trauma. I have experience working with LGBTIQA+ clients (including supporting children/adolescents exploring gender identity) and clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Therapeutic work can be short, medium or longer-term depending on needs and what you are looking for. In this work I place an emphasis on creating a safe, collaborative and interesting therapy space to foster new insights and change, working with each person as an individual.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies depending on the fit with the person and the issues they are presenting with.

In work with children I combine play, creative interventions and talking therapy, as well as work with the family.

I am also able to provide appointments in German and Finnish and provide supervision for other clinicians.

I work in Fitzroy and Northcote (after-hours appointments also available) and also provide appointments over Telehealth.

I provide individual therapy to address a range of concerns including:

  • General mental health concerns in childhood, adolescence, adulthood.
  • Family, peer, workplace/school difficulties in childhood, adolescence, adulthood.

  • Trauma
  • Relationship & attachment issues
